CERAMIC MOSAIC SWIMMING POOL TILES
Tile Bedding method:
The precise recommendations of the swimming pool ceramic tiles adhesive manufacturer should be followed concerning the suitability of the background, the mixing procedure, the method of use, the thickness of adhesive and the open time after spreading.
Pool Tiles Setting out:
It is important to the appearance of the finished tiling that unsightly cut swimming pool tiles are avoided and that joints are of a uniform width. Cut courses in both directions should:
- Be determined in advance. Where possible, cut jacuzzi tiles should be avoided by slightly adjusting the swimming pool tiles joints within the ceramic mosaics.
- be as large as possible.
- Be arranged in the least prominent of alternative locations. To ensure that rows of fountain tiles are true, a level line should be established to position the starting course.
It should be noted that joints between wall and floor tiling will not match.
All joints should be raked out and cleaned from any contaminants prior to grouting.
Water Feature Tiles Grouting:
When using proprietary grout, the joint cavities are not usually wetted. A minimum of 24 hours must be given after bedding the swimming mosaic pool tiles, prior to grouting.
Proprietary grouts would be mixed and applied strictly in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations.
GLASS MOSAICS SWIMMING POOL TILES
Drawings provided for design and murals should be checked before any fixing commences.
The setting out of the finished work should be controlled from a given datum. To ensure that the rows are truly horizontal, a level line should be established to position the starting row of sheets.
A gauge rod should be made indicating the overall measurement of a given number of sheets of mosaic with the specified joint widths.
The work should be planned to start fixing at the top of the areas to be covered.
All mosaics should be inspected. Designs should be laid out prior to fixing. The paper of paper-faced mosaics should be clear of the edges to assist with joint alignment while the sheets are being fixed.
Tiles Bedding Method:
For the details of adhesive proposed, refer Approved material submission.
Thin bed adhesive. Both cement based and organic based adhesives are suitable. The precise recommendations of the adhesive manufacturer should be followed concerning the suitability of the background, the mixing procedure, the method of use, the thickness of adhesive and the open time after spreading.
Swimming Pool Tiles Application:
Paper faced mosaics should be pregrouted. Sheets of mosaics should be fixed in horizontal lines starting at the top. Each sheet should be placed in position as accurately as possible and tapped with a laying on the trowel, or wooden beater so that full contact with the bedding is achieved.
It is important that horizontal and vertical alignments are checked as the work proceeds.
The joint width established when the mosaics were assembled should be maintained between the sheets.
The sheet of mosaics that have been pre-grouted should have the joints between them filled with grout as the work proceeds.
After the sheets have been firmly tapped in place my any facing papers should be removed by soaking and sponging (only after the bedding has completely set). Any necessary adjustment should be carried out before the bedding sets.
Any surplus cement or adhesive remaining on the face of the mosaic should be removed before it its sets.
Pool Tiles Grouting:
For details of grouting material proposed Materials List Subsequently, grouting between swimming pool tiles is checked and re-grouted where necessary or entire area.
The grouting should be rubbed over the surface to fill the joints as the work proceeds. After the grout has hardened sufficiently the surface of the work should be washed over with water and left clean. Check out our tile shop Dubai for tiling collections.
Excessive grout over the surface shall be cleaned before the initial setting of the grout. Care shall be taken to remove the excess grout completely from the face of the swimming pool tiles.
